Marriage with a Price is about a young heiress living in Australia who suddenly inherits a horse farm. Sadly the farm is heavily mortgaged and she is told she needs to either marry a rich man or find a rich investor to keep the farm afloat. At the racetrack she meets a handsome young man who offers her a way to keep the family business- he'll introduce her to a rich investor if she agrees to let him stay on her farm so that he can make sure the investment is worthwhile.As can be expected, the heroine and the hero fall in love, and he proves to be the rich investor.
I liked the setting: Australia, and although at first the overuse of exaggerated cartoons to portray emotion did not appeal to me (almost chibi-esque at times), I began to like the art by the end of the book. I felt the romance was short but sweet, and while I found the ending cheesy, there was an endearing quality to this story which I found heart-warming by the end.
As usually the story is heavily abridged from the original novel work, so plot, romance and all story develops at a rocket pace which makes it tough to really consider these manga editions to be anything but light reading.

Marriage at a Price is Miranda Lee's 40th novel. Courtney Cross is the independent, spirited owner of the Crosswinds horse stud farm. But after her mother's death, she finds she is deep in debt and may lose the farm unless she finds a silent business partner. When investment broker, Jack Falconer, says he knows just the man, Courtney isn't expecting the deal that is offered. Sparks fly between Courtney and Jack, with each determined to get their own way. The legacy that Courtney has from her single mother, Hilary, is not just the Crosswinds stud, but her independence and her opinion of men, however flawed that may have been. Another great Aussie romance with a few hot sex scenes.
I probably would've liked this book if I liked the heroine a little more. Some Harlequin books have heroines who are doormats, Miranda Lee went 180 degrees and created a heroine who I felt was just too aggressive.
I get that she's supposed to be a rough and tumble, uncouthed, loud-mouthed rancher, especially considering who her mother was and how she was raised, but still; I found myself cringing every time she opened her mouth. If I were the hero (Jack) I'd be afraid to take her out in public much less to anything requiring a modicum of etiquette. Still, it did make it fun when he took charge and tamed her.
As always, Miss Lee sex scenes were toe-curlingly steamy. Especially the barn scene.
All in all, an okay read.
