I enjoyed the story. It is sweet and romantic without going overboard. I am now a fan of Ian Thomas Healy. 5 stars.
If the story centralized more on the hero's, and not so much on the security guard, this book would have had a lot more going for it. In the style that this book was written, it would have made a better comic book style book, considering how little dialog and detail this story contained.

I'm not a big fan, but this book was well written.
Scent of rose petals was a good just cause story. Good short story. I was able to read the complete story before bed, and smiled at the ending. I like the story.
Sometimes it's nice to read a nice, easy, fast one that brings back the charm of early superhero stories. It has the essence of an old comic book, that's for sure.
Though the dialogue is a little cliche at times, the narrative is elaborate and interesting to read. The characters are well-developed without trouble.
I only wish that the author would have gotten a bit more into the post-war setting, but I can't say that about the love scenes. I appreciate his love for simplicity.

A young bank guard meets a Super-Heroine when she interrupts an ongoing bank robbery. This then is their story.

Some thoughts on "The Scent of Rosé Petals"...

1.) a tale that suggested some promise at the beginning... but quickly turned into a rather bland story that I found difficult to get any enthusiasm for.

2.) our Super Heroine was very one dimensional... with a detached affect that resulted in her showing little emotion or personality. Strangely for a heroine, she was very uninteresting.

3.) cover art... attractive and eye-catching image.

Impression
Having never read any of the other 'Just Cause Universe' tales I'm unable to compare this story with its peers. Maybe this type of story was what the author intended and was the overall desired operating motif for this series. But that being said, there wasn't much here to entice me into reading more of this series.

As it is... 2 Stars.

This is a short story about Stan, a bank security officer, and Athena, a superhero, and their romance. It moves quickly, and we find out a good deal about Stan, the storyteller. After I finished the story, I thought about how the story would have changed if Athena had told it. Give this author a try!

I like this short story from the Just Cause superhero universe where a normal guy meets
a super heroine. I would love to see if Stan and Lady Athena met again as older people.
